Linden, April 20 -- The
announcement of the death of John H. STALEY who was fatally injured in
an automobile accident in Osborn, KS April 19 was received here today.
Mr Staley has been traveling salesman for the American Carbon Co of
Frankfort and was in KS on business. It is thought he was making an auto
trip from one town to another in his work. His body is expected to
arrive in Linden some time Saturday and will be taken to the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Staley. John Henry Staley was born Feb 21,
1870 at Selins Grove PA. He came to the state of Indiana locating in
Fountain Co with his parents at age 9 and then to Montgomery Co 1884
moving to Linden in which place he grew to manhood. He was married March
20, 1896 to Miss Lulu D. Martin daughter of Mr. and Mrs Robert Martin
of Linden. His wife died March 15, 1908.
